TreePose Explorations
Mindful Outdoor Experiences, Forest Bathing, Yoga and Meditation
What is TreePose Explorations?
TreePose Explorations is a project I founded that centers on mindful outdoor programs in addition to yoga and meditation offerings. While most of my work with TreePose Explorations is outdoors, I also lead meditation, guided outdoor experiences, and virtual yoga classes on Facebook or Zoom. I also collaborate frequently with other guides and teachers for many activities. You can check out the events section on Facebook to see what's coming up and give the page a like to follow new developments and offerings.

What Is A Mindful Outdoor Experience?
An individually crafted, 60-90 minute guided walk in nature; you need not be a "hiker" nor a meditator
A way to connect or reconnect with the gifts of the more than human world through meditations based on your sense perceptions
It is a practice to strengthen & reclaim the best parts of yourself as a member of the natural world
A powerful nature experience drawing on traditions of
- yoga
- forest bathing
- Ayurveda
- mindfulness
- common-sense outdoor skills you already have
Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer, an Indigenous author and biologist, writes about how this practice of mindfulness- paying attention with intention and an attitude of curiosity- is medicine for the land and our broken hearts.
With Americans spending an average of 7 hours a day on devices and 90% of our time indoors, a mindful walk in nature is the medicine we need. During a mindful outdoor experience, you can increase your awareness of the present moment while reconnecting with calm and well-being. Mindful connections to the outdoors are crucial for cultivating a balanced, inspired, and fulfilled life.
While I am a long-time meditation, tai chi, and breathwork practitioner, my recent training in this realm is rooted in the teachings of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. There, I have earned certificates for both levels of the School of Mindful Outdoor Guide training and a 200-hour certification in yoga instruction. Currently, I am also on the outdoor staff, leading mindful archery, hiking, and kayaking experiences for guests. I am grateful to work as a faculty assistant for various programs at Kripalu, including Levels I & II Mindful Outdoor Guide Certification and Archery as a Spiritual Doorway.
Mindful Outdoor Experiences (MOEs) are grounded in this training and the wisdom of ancient traditions and practices. In addition to my long-standing Tai Chi and Chi Gung work, MOEs also include my study of the spiritual practices found in my Celtic heritage, Buddhism, and the wisdom of Indigenous peoples.
